Artist Statement

I paint to honor the quiet.​

 

My work captures the simple, still moments of daily life - a knowing glance, a room entered, a window opened - and bathes them in intense, vivid color and imaginings. From a young age, I was a keen observer of stillness, appreciating the depth, meaning and beauty of small, often overlooked pauses in time. My portraits are snapshots that are intended to affirm the power of the quiet and offer an invitation to witness the color and electricity held in every moment. Because no matter how mundane or small or challenging something may seem, there is always profound beauty waiting to be noticed.
